Weathering...
As I've finally decided to start on my thunderbolts as part of the first weathering and diorama project I just wanna clarify something... the aircraft I'm making comes from the 509th fghtr sqdn 405 fghtr group and is silver in colour... My friend Butz told me to paint a base coat of dark grey (the aircraft being 1/72) then paint the silver... but how many coats do you paint ? Do I paint till the entire model is opaque or just paint one layer and get on with the original colour.. I use a paint thinner ratio of 1:1.5 with gunze acrylics.... He gave me many other valuable techniques but this appears to be the easiest method to weather... He also asked me to use Qtips for panel lines... whats Qtips?
Another question,
How does one go about making oil leaks and gun powder residues on the aircraft(P47)? Do help.....
Do email me if u find it more comfy.... ( nandman83@yahoo.co.uk)
Thanking you in advance...
Cheers,
Nandakumar
