Hey exec,
Either scale that you choose, you wont go wrong. The newer Italeri kits are nicely done w/ your basic interior detail and all not that expensive.
I think that the 72d runs about $15-18 or so.
I know Blackbox makes an interior for the new 18 but which one I am not sure of. I want to say they do both variantsSad [:(].
That is if you want to spend a lil extra $$ for the interior detailings.
Flaps up, Mike

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

The only F model Hornets I know of are made by Italeri. They have both a 1/48 scale and 1/72 scale Super Hornet. The 1/48 is about $25.00, and I don't know about the 1/72. The detail is pretty good except for the cockpit. The ejection is basic in detail and the instrument panel and side consoles are flat, relying on decals to supply the details.
