wow.. Canada seems to be a common demoninator here... My relatives on Mom's side (Brousseau/Brossard/Broussard) were exiled from France way back in the 1604 and settled in Acadia, modern Nova Scotia... around 1750 they were exiled by the British from Acadia to Louisiana.. now we just shortened it to "Cajun" as far as our heritage. (people down here couldn't pronounce Acadien or 'Cadien as we called ourselves so it was 'anglocized')

Wierd thing was I had to do a doubletake on Mike's comment about Jasper.. Jasper to me is about 45 miles to the E.

Sorry to hijack the thread.. just thought it was wierd how many have ancestry from Canada...

Jay wasn't there a Boutin in the House of Commons a few years ago. And my Grandmothers family came from Canada from both Ontario and Alberta as a matter of fact I had a Uncle who was mayor of Jasper back in the 1920's.

Nice job, eh!  Being half Canadian, I'm having a bit of fun with this thread! Big Smile [:D]

Off Topic a bit, but do you know why they called Canada, well, Canada?

So they know how to spell it.  "C", eh? "N", eh? "D", eh?  Big Smile [:D]

(Told you I'm having too much fun with this.)

Simply gorgeous build of a great aircraft Rick Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup].  I must say of all the kits I've seen you produce and display, that has to rank as one of the favourites.

Great job

Cheers

Great Build! As an Canadian ex-military pilot I love the Canadian stuff!  Of all the piston engined aircraft, that would have been one of the most exciting to fly. Great job again.

I said it before too Rick but it's worth repeating. Great build!! Thumbs Up [tup]

My grandmother came from the States, Detroit to be exact.  So does that make me an honorary Michigian?  Huh?  Actually spent a summer down there once.

Hey, no worries Rick, I love hearing about peoples' history.  That is so cool about your grandparents.  Both my mothers parents were born in the Ukrane and came to Alberta in the 20's and 30's.  The Boutins have been roaming the Continent since 1665.  Apparently a Boutin helped found Mobile Alabama!

Rick, I said it in the Canadian GB, but I say it again here, WOW.  I love it, especially the spinner!  BTW the exclamaition is "eh!" not "ay!".  Smile,Wink, & Grin [swg] And actually we don't all say it, just some of us, eh?

You have done the RCN and the CAF proud! We should make you an honourary Canadian, Eh?Cool [8D]Thumbs Up [tup]

Thanks everyone for the comments, really appreciate them.  The model was painted with Model Master enamels.  There are no exact matches for the Canadian colors that I know of, so I used British Extra Dark Sea Grey over Light Gull Grey.  These are not exact matches, but close enough for me.
