BREDA Ba65
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, July 28, 2003 6:46 AM
Hello everyone !

I wonder if someone can help me on this: I recently bought a 1/72 AZUR kit of the Breda Ba65 (quite esotheric italian fighter from WWII). This is a single seater. However, there is a version of this plane which is double seater. Does anyone know if there is out there any cottage industry producing an aftermarket conversion to do this double seater version ????

Thanks a lot,

Rafael

Hey Rafael !!

The AZUR kit is the only plastic kit that I know of. There are some vacu-form kits, though.
You may have to scratch build the version you're looking for.
There is a good book on this plane, it's: Breda Ba.65 by Giancarlo Garello.
Other than the 1/2 seat versions, there are also 2 engine variants.
The K.14 and P.XI. The K.14, which the AZUR kit depicts, is an Issotta Fraschini engine and P.XI is made by Piaggio. The cowlings are the only visual differences.
Well, hope this helps a little,
Take care,
DeP

I just checked my Azur Breda Ba.65 and it can be built as a two seater. With a little surgury, it has the parts to add the gunner's position behind the pilot's cockpit.
