In the UK a car parts company called Halfords market acrylic primers in white & grey for spraying the plastic parts on cars. both colours are excellent, in fact the grey is close to one of the USAF grey's & saves a top coat!. They don't harm the plastic & highlight any faults in the surface beautifully.

TAMIYA has two plastic kit primer marketed as SURFACE PRIMERS. comes in two colors WHITE and LIGHT GRAY. If the model im painting is white or other color I use the LIGHT GRAY. if parts of the model that will be painted with clear colors such as nav light I use WHITE.

NOTE: Why WHITE for Nav lights? clear red/green/blue is easier to paint on a white background because they are thinner than other paint colors.

Hope to have helped ya!

Who makes is a good acrylic aerosol primer that will not eat the plastic and form a good base for additional painting?
