Thanks for the kind words, Darren and Rick!  I really appreciate the input, it will (hopefully) add to my skills for my next project, Monogram's 1:48 P-61 Black Widow.

Looks good Brain.  Painting & decaling are well done.  Noticed you didn't try the white sealant on the canopy/windscreen which was very prominent on the Panther, but tough to replicate.  Overall, nice job.

Regards,  Rick

DDRmaniac and Lemonjello,

Thanks for the nice comments, guys, I really appreciate it!  Each build gets a little better, soon I will try one of my "big" kits, maybe the 1:48 B-58 or the 1:48 Bone.

Lemonjello,  yes, there are several AM decal sets for the Corps check on Great Models or Squadron.  This old Monogram kit went together really nicely, only needed a bit of filler at the to wing roots, everyhting else was a decent fit using gap filling CA.  I plan on getting another kit and doing the Blue Angels bird later on.

Looks like one to be proud of, you've done some good work with the details.  Its good to see something from the early age of jets.  How was the kit as far as fit?

Does anyone know if there are USMC markings for this aircraft?  It would make a good change of pace from the modern stuff I usually build.

A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Even though some of the photos are blurry I can see you did a nice job on the detail painting. I always love seeing models of often-ignored aircraft such as this one. The paint and decals look great too!

Here are a few pics of my latest build, Monogram 1:48 F9F Panther, OOB build.  Comments welcomed!  My photography skills leave a lot to be desired;  I apologize for the poor pics!
