Vultee P-66 Vanguard kits?
Posted by jeff on Tuesday, April 4, 2006 2:20 PM

I've been searching the usual vendors for a P-66 kit for some time now, but have come up empty.  I almost won a Rareplanes vacuform off of Evil-bay a couple of months ago, but someone sniped me at auction end.  Since then, I've found nothing, even on ebay.  Does anyone know of any kits of this obscure aircraft, or where I might get one?

Maybe this might fit the bill?

Never heard of 'em.... Googled it though. Hope it helps.

Sword has released a 1/72 kit

They have one in stock at http://www.aviationmegastore.com/

There also is a 1/48 p-66 vac-form kit from Karo-As. I have that kit in the stash, it looks good, has resin details and a white metal landing gear.

I have the S Model kit. Looks to be a challenge like any vacuform. Shouldn't be to hard to find. As for the AirCollection injection molded kit I placed an order for that one at GMW years ago. The order was eventually cancelled after they couldn't find one and it's no longer offered by them. I still have yet to find anyone that carries it or see it on eBay.

Not sure what's available in 1:72 scale... too small for me.Smile [:)]

Quagmyre,

Did you order direct from their website, or pick up the kit from another vendor?  Has anyone ordered direct from S-model and can relate the experience?

I got mine on eBay. Not sure any of the major web retailers carry any of their products. I tried GMW, Squadron, Roll Models, and Hannant's, but no dice.

I have a paper model kit from 1981. Is that what you're looking for?
