Hey does anyone know if airwaves still makes the B-52H conversion kit for the monogram Buff? If so please pass on the info on how I could find one. Big Smile [:D]

Airwaves still lists the conversion on its website:

www.airwaves.org.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_1_72_Scale_Conversions_14.html

but for the expense and the work involved, you'd be better off waiting for AMtech who plans on revising the AMT/Ertl B-52H kit with new nacelles, updated antennas, new pylons with new bomb racks and (I think) JDAM bombs. I expect you will see the kit out early to middle 2004 for around $50.

Does anyone know where I might be able to still find an AMT B-52G later version that was released several years ago. I have an early version "G" and "H" and waiting for the new release from AMTech..posibly between the three an "accurate" Desert Storm era "G" can be made. Im also looking for the font used for numbers and tail codes on USAF acft so I can finish some artwork for a BUFF that I flew during Desert Storm.

Fonts for use on U.S. military aircraft are available for license purchase from T.Lai Enterprises:

www.tlai.com/med_des/modeling.html

You buy the rights to download these fonts to your computer, and then you can use them to make home-made decals.

Thanks for the reply but I would rather use the Monogram kit as the wings are at the right angle, and I have never liked AMT's quality. Also seems to me even from the articles in the magazine...the AMT kits fall short as the author used Monogram parts to better portray his AMT kit.

Just got word that Amtech is likely not to release the new "H" model Buff. There latest newsletter states a lot of problems and cost factors will probably kill this one. So much for a more accurate Buff !!!
