Panel Lines with NMF
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, August 11, 2003 12:16 PM
Hey guys, gotta quick question on natural metal finishes.

I'm working on a Tamiya P-51 and P-47 right now. Wonderful kits. I'm planning on using my stash of Alclad metal paints to finish them off. What would be the easiest or best way to acsentuate the panel lines with a metal finish like this? I've used the chalk powder, water, and dish washing soap combo before on olive drab aircraft but I didn't know if that would be proper for this or not.

Thanks in advance!

I don' t know much about alclad, but I see no reason why a dark grey wash wouldn't work.

Hey jew0,
I agree w/ wibhi2 on the wash method. A dark gray would be fine but you could also try using "scale black" for the wash as well.

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger
