F-101 Voodoo decals or markings for custom decals
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 12:09 PM
Looking for decal sets or some good profiles of the F-101 to produce custom decals.

Maybe the 75th FIS (now the 75th Fighter squadron)Actually any unit would do, active service 60 FIS is looking promising

Anybody help with this??

Thanks

I dont know of many colorful decal sets for US Voodoos. I have made many F101B models....just recently completed one with 60th FIS markings. Aeromaster sheet 48-506 , also has markings for ANG unit " Happy Hooligans". For Colorful markings on Voodoos, the Canadian forces applied some very colorful markings. Superscale made some good decal sets., but they are out of print, but you still might be able to find them yet. 48-263 has markings for one USAF, and Canadian forces special paint job. 48-264 has 2 Canadian forces Voodoos One all black ECM Voodoo...Black night squadron.....and 409 squadron Hawk One Canada.......2 tone paint job.......Sky Blue and Black with hawk head on sides, just ahead of the intakes...Saw this plane in the 80's at the Abbotsford airshow in Canada.......very colorful.......good pics of it in Detail and Scale book Volumne 21....hope this helps?

Cham313on,
Experts Choice did decals for the 136th FIS, 107th FIG(1/48th & 1/72) out of Niagara Falls NY. The 101 flew with these markings for a short time period.
It had a wedge like Eagle on the back tail w/ claws on the gear doors. This paticular a/c was known as the screaming eagle/chicken depending on who you talked to.
From all the photos I have seen, looks like the only plane to wear these markings. This sheet may be out of production. I'll check for the # for ya and will holler back.
Flaps up , Mike
