Only aftermarket set I've found is the VAW-122 from USS Forrestal 1989/90 by Carpena Decals sheet 72.21, but it's a very average light gull grey/white machine.

This sheet does not include national markings (Stars 'n' bars) or stencils, just the squadron and a/c specific stuff.

If anyother decal manufacturer out there is looking in, we appear to have a market for US navy E-2Cs!

Well, Heller's 1/72 E-2C Hawkeye is a good kit, although it has Frech decals (Yes, i've bought it!!!!)...

Does Anybody knows a good decal sheet for it, with markings from US NAvy (USS Enterprise???)????

Thanks for the attention....

I have a Testors E-2C Hawkeye from the late 1980's early 1990's. I think that this is the same as the Fujimi Kit and was also released by Italeri I believe.

It is my understanding that the Heller E-2 kit is a brand new tooling and 1/48 if the information I've heard is correct.

As for whats available, that depends completely on your personal finances. Collectaire have both and E-2 and an E-1 in their limited run, multimedia kit range, but I don't know many who can afford them though.

As for the Hobbycraft Tracker mentioned earlier: I do not recomend it. If you can find the old Hasegawa S-2F Tracker, you're getting exactly the same kit but much sharper moldings.

Good luck

Hi - The E-1 Tracer was available from Mach 2 from France. They may still make it. Check the Hannants website as listed in the post above or try Squadron.com. Mach 2 kits are injection molded but can be pretty crude. As for the E-2 Hawkeye, I wonder if that Heller kit is just the old Fujimi kit repackaged. Has anyone seen the Heller kit?

Regards,

Pat

Well, it does look like both Revell and Hobbycraft have a Tracker in their ranges... And there are conversion kits and decals available too..

Check

www.hannants.co.uk

They ship worldwide.

Fujimi had a 1/72 Hawkeye in its range (i'm talking back in the '80s here!). I know that there was a vacuform kit of the tracker but I do not know who did it...
