Hi, Hogzed.
Hmmm, I don't know of any 1/35 WWII aircraft kits, but I've seen plenty of dioramas incorporating 1/35 AFVs with 1/32 aircraft, and it looks fine to me. Technically the aircraft are too big, but heck, it's only 3 digits off! You probably get more variation than that from manufacturer to manufacturer.

I surmise you are envisioning such a diorama, no?

here's a pic of a 1/32 Stuka with a 1/35 Famo, tank transporter, and Hummel in a beautiful diorama. Looks great to me!

This is from last year's Kansai AFV Meeting here in Osaka. The modeler is Mr. Yoshihiko Atsu.

Hi Hogzed,

Welcome in! This is a great place, you'll enjoy yourself!

I once experimented by doing a diorama on 3 levels and displayed in a acrylic case. Used putty to form rolling meadows, dried moss for tree's, sprayed a mist of flat white over the landscape, to simulate a snow covered landscape about 5,000 ft below the viewers level.... where I mounted a 1/48 T-28B by the left wingtip in the front side of the display box, and a 1/72 T-28B's right wing to the back side of the box, about halfway to the base. Also along the front and back of the inside, I mounted little "L" shaped pieces of sprue, airbrushed some cotton, and made scattered clouds (also camouflaged the wings attachment points with a few passes of the airbrush on the outside.

Viewed from in front/above, and squint your eyes a little bit, and it looked like the T-28's were flying through the air. I sold it to a co-worker before it was finished, and I have never done another one.... it does make for an enjoyable project where several scales may be incorporated. Maybe even a couple P-51's (1/48 & 1/72, or 1/32 & 1/48, strafing through a village or town or ??

Greetings once again and come around anytime! Smile [:)]

Oh, sorry Hogzed! I forgot to say "Welcome!"

Welcome!

Oldhooker, that sounds like a pretty cool aerial diorama. Any pix?

Hulk,

I'm afraid not... that was back in 1979 or 80, while I was in the Army and hadn't yet caught on to the idea of photographing my work.

I can illustrate the basic idea of it, however, and one of these days I'm going to do something like this again.

The only plastic 1/35th scale aircraft kits I know 're the 30 years old Nichimo ones....Some jap fighters, if I remember well ( Ki 84 " frank ", Ki 44 " tojo ", Ki 61 " tony ", and the A6M5 Zero, methink ! )
A few years ago, Azimut was talkin' about a L19, but it 's, until today, a " no-show "...!
' ve a nice day...!

Oldhooker: Nice! I get the idea.

Mike the Toad: Do you have more information on Nichimo's 1/35 Japanese aircraft series? I've never heard of 'em!
