Dear Ferg,

Did you ever get any updates on your B-29 Thumper project?  My Father purchased the original kit for me in the late 90's and I've been holding off on building it until my military service ended and my modeling skills improved.  Since that time my Father has passed away and building the kit has taken on an even greater importance.  My home was flooded during Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and sadly the decals and instructions for Thumper were destroyed.  I am very intersted in any information you have about this warbird that you could provide to help me assemble it in my Father's memory.

Get some inkjet decal paper and some liquid decal film and print your own.  You can select your own fonts from this site:

You can get the decal stuff from:

Thank all of you for the help on research on the B-29 Thumper. I have two color photos (reprints) that a Mr.Schoolcraft ( 504th histotian) sent me along with a squadron patch.I just purchased a Monogram 1/48 B-29 off evilbay for twenty-six bones, including shipping. My LHS has one they want 45 bones????But now I have another problem.I need 1/48 scale USAAF black lettering for the a/C markings. The markings I am speaking of are the crewmember names, ground crew names and A/C stenciling. The pictures I have are outstanding. The B-29 being natural metal finish they had alot of stenciling all over the ship.I model mostly US Navy / USMC A/C .And it just figures that the style of stenciling is different from the numerous letter/stenciling decal sheets I have. I went to my LHS and they have very little stencil sheets and it is all moderen stencils. My LHs has just changed ownership. The new owner is not as intrested in plastic kits as the last owner. He is letting the kits go down,he is increasing the R/C cars and SKATEBORADS.

Does any one know were I can get WWII style black USAAF stencil sheets. I can make templates for the nose art this B-29 is so large I can almost hand paint the Thumper rabbit .Sorry for the long post. I hope you all can come thru again.(Istill have not herd from the USAF historical branch yet 3 weeks now)
