Hasagawa 1/48 scale Harrier ll !
Posted by TANGO 1 on Sunday, August 24, 2003 8:42 AM
Hi all.

I've seen on Hannants future releases page that a Hasagawa 1/48 scale Harrier ll is to be released over here in around December '03Big Smile [:D]
Anyone heard about this release anywhere else? Anyone know if this is a new mould or a monogram kit repackaged? I'd be keen to hear any info. anyone has on this.

Many thanks,

DarrenWink [;)]

Hi, Darren!Smile [:)]

Looking at the release info in this month's Hobby Japan, the only Hasegawa Harrier info I see is a 1/72 AV-8B Harrier II Plus "Italian Navy" kit released here in July (old Hasegawa Harrier with new decals).

I'll check out the Hasegawa Japanese website and see if there's any info there.

Just checked the Hasegawa website (in Japanese), but no mention of a Harrier II release in December.

They did have info on an interesting 1/72 B-17 in Luftwaffe markings, though!

First I heard of it was back in April-May, dunno where though...

Anyhoo, it's a newly tooled kit.

No, I haven't seen it on the website either. I'm trying to figure out where... I first heard about it at one of the local shops, I think. And then there was a thread here on FSM about it roughly a month ago or so... or more. I just can't remember...

I have heard of hasagawa releasing monogram kits in their name in Japan. then a year or two later in the revell box elsewhere. I saw it with the f-101, catalina, F9-F panther and others. On the other hand, I do know the accurate miniatures was working on a new 1/48 Harrier just before it's demise. could it be a new kit? Let's all hope and wait to see!
Take this plastic and model it!

I first heard about this kit in Scale Aviation Modeler magazine here in the UK about a year ago. Hannants are usually quite reliable so I can't wait till Christmas!
I'm surprized that there's no info on this in Japan though, I'm going to e-mail Hannants and see what they have to say about it.
If I get any new info. I'll let you guys know.

Later,

Darren.

Hey Steve,
Ron had told me that he heard through one of his distributors that the Harrier was going to be released in quater scale.
The exact time of release was not really known but it would be near the end of the year.
Maybe Dan would be interested in the few Monogram Harriers that I haveTongue [:P]Tongue [:P]Tongue [:P]Wink [;)].
Well I guess I'll have to wait to see what mode he is in at the end of the year LOL..!!

Hi, fellas!
This month's Hobby Japan lists a 1/48 AV-8B Harrier II as one of Hasegawa's new kits to be presented at the All-Japan Model and Hobby Show to be held October 9-12. They've also announced a 1/48 RF-4E, plus some other cool planes, like a 1/32 Bf 109K-4.
