If I'm not mistaken you put her in the 339th FG markings right? WOW maybe you can add it to the display case at Ace along w/ my Me262. At least there will be another new build besides mine
Speaking of that I thought we were suppose to rotate our builds once in awhile. I guess that went out the window too.
Anyway cant wait to have an up close peak at it myself.

Nice looking P-51. Who makes the decals? I have a 1/48 Hasegawa kit and have been looking for markings to put it in.

Well, I say it looks quite good. I like the different colored panels on the wing. You have some very nice little touches there. Don't be too hard on yourself there, at my best I'd be thrilled to produce something that nice. I feel like I am getting better though. Keep up the good work.

I know that we are most critical of ourselves, but that pony looks really nice. You have a kit to be proud of. I know that I am guilty of cutting corners toward the end of a build as well, but if you did, you mask it well. Other than the thick canopy ()again, nothing you could do) I think it looks great. I personally wouldn't even weather the exterior, just from the clean build standpoint. So few people make clean models. Just MHO.

Hmmm.... the Bird look's great to me! On my kits, if there's an area that gave me problems, to me, it sticks out like a sore thumb, and I usually point it out to people who look at it. In every case, I get; "Really, I wouldn't even have noticed it if you hadn't shown me."

Same way here; in fact, I'll go with my first impression and say; "Nice build, Wolf, look'n good!!!"

Thanks, folks. It is true that alotta people won't notice things unless you point them out. Should I list all the mistakes? LOL

This was my first serious attempt at a bare metal finish, and I wanted to give it that aged look. Alotta people want that bright shining metal look. Not me, I like 'em when they look used. And that aspect of this model actually looks better to the eye than it does in these photos. It looks a bit too bright in these shots, but it's really rather a dull finish, which is what I wanted.

And the wings were sprayed over with Dullcote to simulate the duraluminum finish. Someday I'll build a Stang the way they looked straight outta the factory, with the panels on the wings filled in... Someday...

Someone asked if those were Moskit exhausts. Nope, I drilled 'em out. When they first came out I thought the Moskit exhausts were 'must-have' stuff. Now I just find them to be a waste of money, but they do look pretty groovy. Anyway, I still have to darken them up a bit, they're a tad too bright at the moment.

Even though I'm not totally happy with it, it's done and that's what matters. At least all the mistakes I made on the NMF have taught me what NOT to do next time...

Usually stick to 1:72 but I've a Italeri / testors P51- D in 1:48 any good ? or pretty old i think ....

It's the Tamiya kit. I had posted in-progs earlier (much, much earlier!) mentioning what kit it was and I guess I just neglected to mention it this time.

I'd stay away from the Testors/Italeri Stang, it's the old Hawk kit and not really worth the time. Unless you're using it for a make-n-take for the kids or sumthin', or a testbed. Kits like that are really good for fooling around with and trying new techniques and such.
