which olive drab?

Honestly, it's all personal preferance. I have never seen a standard OD Green, even on military vehicles from the same group. The mixes that are used vary from batch to batch, making it almost impossible to correctly match the color exactly. Just go with what your eyes tell you is correct.

There were two olive drabs used by the AAF during WW2.
From 1940 to 1943 Dark Olive Drab #41 was used. April 1943 on ANA 613 Olive Drab FS 34087 was in use . Don't know of a match for OD #41 except from a good color photograph. ANA 613 is available.
Demono69 is right about matching the color. The most
important thing I learned looking for the right olive drab was
that the AAF had a real problem with paint manufacturers matching the color chip. Also some paints would fade ,chip etc.
very quickly depending on the environment and paint quality.
Follow Demono69's and Mandrakes advice and you'll stay sane and have fun .

like demono & fuzzy stated the OD & desert tans faded almost as quickly as they were painted because of the paint technolodgy back in the WWII era, and alot of the units applied and mixed the paint at the forward locations sometime they had inpurities mixed in as well that will cause the paint to discolor or fade quickly so if it looks right to you then you in like flint

Back in April, I posted a formula for OD 41. It is from an IPMS club years ago. Unfortunately, it uses Pactra paints which are out of production. If you want to play with the formula, you can probably find some close matches to the colors needed.
