Smile [:)]hey guys,
i'm based in the the uk and was looking for the 2 seat stormovik in 1/48, but all i could find was the i seat early version by accurate miniatures (kit ACM3408)Angry [:(!], but i bought it anyway!Clown [:o)]
is it easy to convert to the 2 seat version by using czech master's interior for the 2 seat version? (CMK4004) i see that set comes with new cockpit/gun/seats etc etc, but am concerned about changes i will have to make to the fuselage....my scratch building skills are not very goodDisapprove [V]
any hwlp would be v welcome, as well as any picsof finished "flying tanks" they can post!!!Smile [:)]Smile [:)]Smile [:)]
many thanks,
nick
Kind regards, Nicholas

nick,
AM made a 2 Stormovik (IL-2m3 ).
they still appear on ebay at prices in the $20US to $28US range.
(based on demand).
i am looking for one myself, and continue to home that one will go 'cheap'
sometime.
there are currently 2 (that i know of up for auction) (search on "accurate miniatures IL-2m3). oh, i see there is a 3rd one now that is going to go searching for bidders.

in any case, i just wanted to let you know that the plane was kitted.
so there might be some on someone's shelf, or in a hobbyshop, dusty and forgotten. :-)

btw, i am not selling any of the kits listed.
but i am looking to buy the 'cheap one'. :-)

not sure how much you are willing to spend vs. how eager you are to buy resin and convert.

good luck.

Don't Convert! AM is re-releasing the IL-2M (the two seat Sturmovik) this October. I was in the same dilema as you, nmayhew, until I hear about this a couple of weeks ago. Take a look at their site:

http://www.accurate-miniatures.com/

Although the first two seater IL-2s were single seaters with part of the rear fuselage cut open to allow the installation of a tail gunner so a relatively easy and authentic conversion is possible.

Aurora-7,
thanks! i did not know they were pack (or nearly back) in production.
greatmodels.com still shows it as OOP, so i guess we'll have to wait a bit longer.
