PR Spitfire decals availability in 1/72
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, February 6, 2003 6:01 PM
Are there 1/72 scale decals of PR Spits out there? Preferably Mk XIXs. I see that Ventura & Fujimi have a kit. But I just need decals. Probably have to get into my scraps & make what I want right?

First of all welcome to the forum. I did a quick search at Squadron.com for all Spitfire decal sets. I didn't see anything for Mk XIX, let alone a Photo Recon Spitfire. I then did a check on the web using "spitfire+decals+1/72" and found a bunch of stuff. Nothing that specified PR though. You might contact some of the hits and see if they can give you more detail. Not much help I'm afraid. Best of luck/Dave

Rick,

I HAVE that Fujimi kit, and I got it to kitbash with another, so I'll probably never use the decals. I might be persuaded to part with them...

BTW, if you (or anyone else) might be interested, I just happen to have a download for a PAPER model kit of the PR Mk XIX (based on the Fujimi) available at:

http://my.execpc.com/~muellr/prxix/

it's approximately 1/48 scale, but I have a 1/72 version kicking around too, and could be persuaded to post that one as well.

Regards,

Hi,
Ive got the PRXIX MPM Spitfire in 1/72nd. Im only going to be using the USAAF decals for it. If you want the RAF versions (x 2) you can have them.
Best Regards
Mark
Or I could scan you the Instruction sheet so you can copy them.
