How's about taking the ventura decals to your local color printer (lazer xreox) and getting a color print on clear decal paper and sealing with micro decal solution?
(assuming the decals aren't misprinted or bad coloration)

I personally haven't tried this process, but it is on my to do listWink [;)]

Hey Benny,

I'd recommend using as few of the Ventura decals as possible, they're really tough to work with. They're not very flexible and don't react too well to any setting solution I've used. I wound up ditching a set that I tried out because they just wouldn't work at all for me. (And then I gave the rest of them away...) Besides, most of the Ventura decals I've owned and/or seen are pretty badly printed, so they're not really worth using anyway. Unless you're desperate.

I dunno if anyone else makes markings for 'Connie' or the 'Pick', but the Eagle Strike decals are excellent and Cutting Edge made at least one sheet that had one or more US-operated 262's. This one may be hard to find, though. If all else fails, at least you can always paint the names by hand. As to the Whizzers insignia, that would be more problematic if you have little or no experience painting your own markings.

Good luck!

Hey gazer,
Eaglestrike production decals also do a few American Me262s.
As for the colors, just check with your references(check out the site below).
Watson's Whizzers, is one group that evaluated these birds and the purpose was simply to gain experience in jets. Remember they didn't have to look pertyTongue [:P]
Along to what Pix mentioned, Czech Master Kits made an all resin set for the 262.(photo etched parts, wing flaps, slats, wheels, control surfaces)#4114
Except this is for the Tamiya Swallow but w/ a lil sanding and some dry fitting they should fit with really no problems.(The items for the interior are part of the photo etche w/ a resin seat).

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

gazer - Welcome to the forums ! I did a little checking, and found that Eduard produces a P.E. set for the Monogram kit. The stock # is 48153. As far as the U3 conversion goes, you may want to do a search for Me 262A-1a/u3 (yahoo, google, etc.) Good luck !

American Me262
Posted by gazer on Saturday, August 30, 2003 4:25 AM
Hello,

My name is Benny Gazer, a modeller from Israel.
I own Monogram's 1/48 kit of Me262 from 1988, kit No. 5453 and would like to build it as an Me262 A-1a/U3 captured by the Americans. I have Ventura's decals (set no. v4859) and would like to mark it as either "Connie the Sharp Article" or as "Pick II".

My questions are:
1. Is Ventura's set adequate? If no, what other marking options do I have (i.e. other availablre decal sets)?
2. What structural alterations and additions, if any, do I have to make to my Monogram kit? Are there any aftermarket products available?
3. Can someone elaborate on the colors (FS or other codes) needed for the paint scheme?
4. Can someone recomend any aftermarket sets to enhance my kit's cockpit, gunbay and engines (in case this issue isn't "covered" by the answer to question no. 2)?

Thank you all very much,

Benny
