Trumpter paints WAS: Trumpteter A-10 colors
Posted by Bones-coa on Saturday, August 30, 2003 10:01 PM
I've just purchased this kit and have been looking at the colors the intructions call out. Does Trumpeter have a line of their own colors or are they using someone elses? I'd like to be able to convert them to Testors colors but the IPMS charts do not list Trumpeter brand paints. Thanks.

Hey Bones;
if your looking for the newer paint scheme or the Euro I scheme? or the interior & wells?, well I'll give you the new scheme it's the Compass Ghost scheme (see topic A-10's FS Paint) and that is DK & LT Ghost Grey's with Gunship Grey on the bottom below the Canopy, the interior is Neutral Grey or Dk Ghost Grey ( it depends on what color we have at the time for touch ups), and the wheel wells, ladder well, avionic bays, SPR panel & gun & gun drum wells are gloss Aircraft Grey, if you need any more questions answered just E-Mail me at 72cuda@gimail.af.mil I'll be more then happy to help, for I work on A-10's and currently I'm in Iraq so ask away
have fun & remember to relax

Thanks again for the info Cuda.

However, I thought I'd let you as well as everyone else know that I figured out what paints Trumpeter is calling out: Gunze Sangyo is the brand they are using.

Hey Bones;
I also forgot to tell you that the Fan Cones are also the same color as the plane-LT Ghost Grey or Euro Green I, and the cowling doors interior is Gloss White with black streaks
