Scotty, it would not be uncommon to find black markings on desert camo aircraft unless you are looking to model a specific Squadron A/C or BuNo. In the reference book "Colors and Markings of the US Navy Adversary Aircraft" there are a few examples of Skyhawks in desert camo and black or grey markings; also some Top Gun Scooters without the star and bar insignia on the fuselage but a "Marines" or "Navy" in black and modex ### in black on tail. You will also find small "Top Gun" logo on tail, one has a bigger one on middle of fuselage.
