Help in the next choice
Posted by nsclcctl on Friday, September 5, 2003 8:14 AM
I am going to my local shop tonite. I am into german and japanese adersary planes right now. I have plenty of US and have 2 avengers waiting. I have most recently done a Zero "Hank" (Tamiya), an ME109 and am finishing an FW 190. I am leaning toward another german fighter. Any suggestions? What was the name of the first jet that was used? Is there a good kit for that? Isn't that what the 190s were escorting? Help me out here and if you can, give me some color ideas. Thanks in advance.

What about the He-162 Salamander? The Me-262 ? The Me-163 Komet? Tamiya released their 1/48 Me-262 not too long ago. Supposed to be a great kit, if you can afford those kits, of course!

Their Ar-335 is pretty good too I believe!

Yup...the 262 was the first jet and the 163 was the first rocket fighter. The 162 never made it into combat afaik....but was very close. I like the 262 kit with the little motorcycle-tractor (Kettenkraft or something like that??)...
