2 Hasegawa Ki 84 "Franks" set out in persuit of an AMT P-40. Both kits are out of the box, w/ kit decals, and the Japanese pilots were "painted" using the Photoshop airbrush tool. Hope you like it, and thanks for letting me share it with you.

Thanks, 18co & Claymore ! As soon as I saw that sky, I HAD to take a picture of it. Kinda adds to the "impending doom !"

Looks Good Pixilater. No point getting in trouble unless you're really going to get in trouble.

Very very nice Pix! The Hayate has always been one of my favorite Japanese warbirds. A good match for any of our planes of the war really, very underappreciated. I especially like the composition and accuracy of the lead angles on this one. With the way that P-40 is pulling up, he's toast in a few seconds. A real beauty!

Thanks so much, ardy & maddafinga ! Yeah, I feel sorry for the "second louie" in the P-40. He must be one of those "90 day wonder" guys ! I've been looking at a lot of aviation art pics lately, and I have come to realize that getting the angles of engagement & lighting, along with the relative scale of the subjects, is an area that I need to explore further. Those guys that do the paintings make it look so easy. (Can you say Koike Shigeo?)
I totally agree with you, maddafinga. The Hayate was a formidable aircraft. Not only that, it was BEAUTIFUL as well. The Hasegawa kit is a honey, too. No filler, & just a light sanding of the seams. I highly recommend this kit to anyone wanting to add an IJA aircraft to their "hangar."
THANKS AGAIN ! ! !

Pix, i really marvel at the way you are doing the pix. I printed your "tutorial" on how you do these pix, but i am technically challenged, and most of what you were trying to tutor us on, went right over the top of my head. I do have Photshop 5.0, but i sure havent figured out how to use all the stuff on their. I have been taking pictures of some "sky" with my digital, so i have stuff if i ever learn fundamentals. Again, my compliments on some great artwork.

Well, thank you, huskerguy ! I am making a video tutorial for a friend on P.S. 6.0. I also have 5.0, so I can make you a video too, if you like. I know, its difficult to communicate what I am doing when I have to use words & function names. I can make it to VHS (easier, quicker, but more $ to mail, degenerates gradually w/ each play), or DVD. The DVD would require editing & rendering at school (not a problem), and the quality doesn't fade w/ time. If you would like a copy, e-mail me your address, and I'll get one out to you. Please allow a couple of weeks for delivery, though.
I'm glad you like it, & I'm willing to help anyone who is interested.

Keep up the great work my friend.
Flaps up, Mike

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

Absolutely beautiful, Pix!
Gorgeous Hayates in a gorgeous composition. Too bad for the P-40!
And what an ominous sky!

Right on about the Koike stuff. It's amazing!
As is your work!

Thanks so much ! You guys are TOO kind. I just like making these, & being able to share them with others is more than I could ever ask. There really are a lot of parallels between building kits & composing images. The more you do, the more you find out where your strengths & weaknesses lie. Being able to post them here has allowed me to take some chances. Some have worked, some haven't. Its all part of learning. Maybe with more training & more compositions, I'll be at a place where I could do this for a living. That would be a dream come true.
THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR COMPLIMENTS. I genuinely appreciate them.
J-Hulk - today was the day for sky pics. I had a hard time choosing which one to use !
