Hobbycraft A-10 1/48
Posted by Anonymous on Saturday, September 6, 2003 10:01 AM
Has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with the Hobbycraft A-10 kit? I found one for $6 U.S.

However I don't want a complete rebuild because the kit is bad. Any details as to raised lines, etc. would be great.
Thanks-Dmod

Hey D;
No I can't say I've had the pleasure of building that kit, I've built Monograms, Esci's, & Tamiya's out of those I feel the Monogram is the best even though it has raise panel lines, the cockpit is very close to the real thing (I work on A-10's and currently in Iraq) and the Monograms also has the chaff/flare dispensers that the Esci & Tamiyas don't have, so that makes the Monograms the best I've built, but I was wondering how that kit is on detail and paint schemes offered also I was wondering if that kit is the old Ecsi or Tamiya kit, I know that Hobbycraft had some of Esci's old molds and ran a few kit under their logo, could you tell me if is or not

besides there Me-109s, I've never been impressed with Hobbycraft kits. Lack of detail, huge-ass recessed panel lines, foggy clear parts, and poor decals.

I havn't actually seen their A-10. Instead I would reccomend the Revellogram one, which is being re-released this fall.

Thanks Cuda and toadwbg! I've always loved the hog. Not many aircraft look so helpless yet can take on a tank platoon by itself. I may give it a try. But I will definately keep my eye out for the release.
Thanks!
I'm planning on modeling after a local ANG wing. For the last decade when I visit home I often here the wine of their fans as they fly over.
