Attached are photos of my first submission to the F-16 group build.
The subject is one of the several Dryden Desearch F-16 AFTI's.
About this Model:
This 1:72 model was built from the Hasegawa F-16 CCV kit, which included
the forward canards near the intake. The dorsal spin was scratch built from
styrene, balsa filler, and squadron white. Additional scratchbuilt details
include various antennas and other surface details. Decals were a mixture
of Cutting Edge and Two-Bobs, with the exception of the tail decal which was
custom printed on laser decal paper.
Personal Firsts:
First use of an airbrush (I'm hooked!)
First use of acrylics (hooked again!)
First significant effort to create scratch-built features
This was one of the most challanging projects I have attempted yet, mostly
due to all of the firsts, but I enjoyed the challange and was overall pleased
with the end results, considering that it bore the brunt of my learning curve!
Comments and suggestions welcomed. Thanks for looking.
