Got Him
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 7, 2003 9:45 AM
The hapless P-40 pilot from "Persuit" never made it into the clouds on time. The AMT P-40 has been crippled by the 2 Hasegawa Ki 84s. Hope you like this follow-up pic, & thanks for letting me share it with you !

Way to go. Keep them coming.
How about turning the tables and have the P-40 wingman get those that shot his leader. Cool [8D]Smile [:)]Big Smile [:D]Tongue [:P]Tongue [:P]Tongue [:P]

Pix, what an absolutely brilliant idea!
I love it!
Both the idea and the execution.
The smoke looks fantastic.

Gonna have to switch to Japanese soon just to keep it interesting!

Thanks, Sled & J-Hulk ! These are so much fun to make ! I'm glad ya like lookin' at 'em !
Sled - You read my mind ! Now I have to make it inventive so you don't see it the way you might expect it ! Makes it more of a challenge that way. I like it !
J-Hulk - No adjectives necessary. And if you start using Japanese, give a translation so I can return the favor to you on your MAGNIFICENT builds ! (even if they ARE targets . . . ) (I mean ARMOR !) O.K. J-Hulk. You can put the 88 down now. . . . J-Hulk? ? ?
Thanks again !

J-Hulk - thank goodness that your guns don't have quite enough range to hit Massachusetts from Japan !

Sled - You have given me a GREAT idea ! I'm planning on carrying this out as a "series." From both sides, from take-off to landing. I've never seen anything like that before (doesn't mean someone else hasn't done it yet), and it may be interesting to follow. I owe you one, Sled ! ! 1
Anyone else think this is a good idea ?

Go for it Pix! If I ever get some more models done I'll have to try your ideas for pictures. That ok? Great stuff!

Thanks, Claymore & 13b20 !
13b20 - Of course its O.K. ! Every person brings their own "touch" to a project. There is NO competition here. We build for FUN ! And if others enjoy it, or get ideas from it, it only ADDS to what we can do with this wonderful hobby. To quote you, GO FOR IT ! ! !

18co - the AMT P-40 kit isn't too bad, IMHO. It is spartan in the cockpit & wheel wells & the decals are THICK, but the surface scribing takes a wash really well, and the fit was good. My only other P-40 kit was a Mauve, and that was about the same.
Butz - isn't having FUN what its all about ? Got to keep it interesting. I don't want it to become predictable !
Thanks for the replies ! ! !

More nice work Pix, and I like the idea of a series too. I like em all but the P-40 (who knows why) is a personal favorite.

Thanks, coldwar ! I think that I have more ideas than talent. I don't yet know how to create the pictures that I make in my head ! But its a lot like modeling. With more experience, you get closer to what you imagine. Glad you enjoy the ones I'm able to do !

Pix, you're always surprising me. Just when I think you've run out of ideas..... How about another one: how about replicating movie scenes in scale-Like 12 O'Clock High, or 633 Squadron, or Top Gun scenes; you get the idea. Worth a shot???
