1/32 R-M Typhoon PE
Posted by Anonymous on Sunday, September 7, 2003 5:41 PM
I'm looking for a cockpit update or replacement for the Revell Monogram hawker Typhoon, 1/32 scale. I have tried Squadron, Verlinden and Eduard with no luck. Anyone seen one of these?

Thought I found one, Claymore. By mistake, I thought you were talking about your P-40. Sorry.
I do have a 1/48 Jaguar set coming. If you want, I can send pics when I get it.
GOOD LUCK, though !

Hey Pix, thanks for the try. I'm not having much luck. I have found stuff for R-M's other old 1/32 kits but the Typhoon must not have been a popular kit. I have found RAF seat belts and could scratch throttle etc. but the dash looks like a bear. Maybe it's time for some custom PE work. Big Smile [:D]
the kit interior isn't Too horrible but the dash is a flat panel with a decal. (YUK!) I could use some interior shots if any one has some.

Hey, claymore ! I finally found the pic of the Typhoon 1b cockpit. I sized it so it will print at 10.5" high. Hope this helps !If you notice, the center inst. panel is flat, & the outer 2 panels point inward. GOOD LUCK !

THANKS! That should work great. I can still use the original as a base and fix it up

Derek, I found these over the weekend. A company called Model Design Construction makes several resin and PE aftermarket sets for the 1/32 REvell Typhoon kit. These are:
# CV32022 British 3 inch Rockets (AP) (25 lb warheads)
# CV 32020 Typhoon Propeller and spinner
# CV 32019 Typhoon wheels (Main gear only)
#CV 32018 Typhoon undercarriage legs
#CV32033 British 3in Rockets (50lb warheads)-both rocket sets include launch rails and wiring
#CV32021 Typhoon engine exhausts
I haven't found any cockpit sets yet, or weapons assemblies, but I'll keep looking.]
