Thinning putty
Posted by Bones-coa on Sunday, September 7, 2003 6:22 PM
I have a fairly old tube of Squadron gren putty that has become a bit harder than normal. It's not rock hard, just a bit stiff. Is there anything I can mix it with to bring it back to life? Thanks.

Try nail polish remover. That should thin it out a bit.

I've used laccquer thinner with automotive spot putty with good results, don't know if it would work with Squadron green.

Try Testor liquid cement, the watery stuff in the square bottle. I've done that for years to get thinned Green and White putty to brush into seams.

Hey Bones;
you could try some MEK, or Acetone to thin it out, also I've used Tenant liquid glue and they work really well, but the bad thing about the MEK it's really stinks and you'll get a little dizzy if your not careful, same with the Acetone but it's not as bad
