Need help with colors for F-4E
Posted by lindersteve on Tuesday, September 9, 2003 2:45 PM
Can anyone tell me the colors (by Testors, Humbrol, Tamiya or any manufacturer) that match the tan and two shades of green used by the USAF on the F-4E in Viet Nam?

Max, thanks for responding with the appropriate information. And thanks for the picture of the TA-4KU. I flew the A-4, TA-4, and AV-8A, so I love aviation pictures. Thanks for replying so quickly.

Cool, do you know about the Skyhawk Association and their website? I worked on the A-4M and TA-4s in the Marine Corps.

Max, I found the Skyhawk web site about a year ago and sent in some pictures I had from VMA-214 and VT-24. I was in Yuma from 1971-1972 in VMT-103 and VMAT-102, then I went to El Toro for VMA-214 and H&MS-13. In 1973 I went to VT-24 in Beeville, TX. That was my last assignment in A-4s. I came through Yuma again in 1977 following a Tranpac from Iwakuni with VMA-513 (Harriers).

I worked with VMAT-102 and helped shut them down in 1987, then transferred to the Blacksheep after they, 211 and 311 came to Yuma to eventually transition to the AV-8B. I finished up with the Skyhawk in Cecil Field, Fl with MAG-42 Det A supporting the reservists in the 4th MAW.
