Special Hobby 1:72 Sikorsky JRS-1 "Flying Boat"

I finished this last evening, as a review article subject for IPMS/USA. The kit was a real bugger, and it took about 3 months of continuous work(!). In 1:72!! Oh, well, it's good to push the skills envelope. right? Overall...I'm pretty happy with it.Enjoy!

Arrghh! I love the subject (and I like your build too!) but why does there seem to be such a direct correlation between the aircraft I like to build and beasty kits? Right now I am in the middle of a Williams Brothers C-46 and it's another one that requires a lot of patience.

Know what you mean. If you build the "odd" stuff seems like you gotta suffer. Nice job , by the way.

Your right Bob, it seems that when a cool subject comes our way, its always done by an odd ball comapny and yes, we tend to suffer but not all the time....

Then again we are modellers right??? Now why can't anybody do a nice T2C in quater scale.. O'well

As a devotee of amphib/flying boats, I can only say BRAVO  Make a Toast [#toast] !  Very nicely done indeed, and, as you say, a Censored [censored] kit (as are most all Spec. Hobby kits) that you have done great justice to!  Thanks forsahring!

Thank You, one and all!! It's nice to end a project like this, and dive into a Tamiya Thunderbolt!!

From the look, that model has 'bugger' written all over it, but you did a great job!  I look forward to reading the review.

Very nice build of a difficult kit.  The extra effort certainly paid off.
