                        I have looked at a few catalogs for F4U Corsairs. I have seen Chance Vought, Vought and Bird Cage. Can someone here fill me in as to what the difference is, if any? ThanksCool [8D]Cool [8D]

                        cnstrwkr - Chance Vought was the name of the man who started the company. The company is also referred to as just Vought. "Bird cage" is a slang for the canopy type. The early models (prototype & F4U-1) had a "greenhouse" framing structure in the canopy. Later models featured a "bubble" type. Hope this "clears" things up !
