Dark aircraft wash color

I painted mine in the glossy sea blus & I used a flat black wash. The black doesn't provide much contrast, but being flat adds defination & dimension. Hope this helps !

How exactly did you provide the wash, in segements or what. What exactly constituted the wash? How long did you wait and how did you wipe it off?

Answer to the question on constituents of a wash.. You can use an acrylic wash consisting of thinned(Really thinned) acrylic paint, distilled water and dishwashing liquid... Or you can use a wash of enamel paint with thinner... Thats what most modellers use.. But I personally would prefer the acrylic wash simply because it seems easier.. The clean up can be done with a moistened Ear bud(Q-tip)... hope this helps.. The acrylic wash technique was taught to me by a good friend here named Butz! I plan to use this on my MiG 25... I just finished a 1/48 scale dauntless dive bomber with a similar paint scheme. I used a medium/light gray wash that looks really good. If you go too dark (dark grey or black it won't show too much like you said, but dont go too light eiter like straight white or it will look fake. but light grey looks good. i used the same watetered down/ diswashing liquid technique.
