                        Remember one more thing if you use the Rocket s and launcher assembly..the under wing assembly was made of wood, and should be presented in its natural color...usually tan washed with a darker reddish tan and drybrushed with a light tan..(i know .wood on the worlds most advanced fighter..almost quaint)

                        In his book The First and the Last there are several pictures of Me262s none with rockets but one with bombs. White 13 and White 17 are fighters while the other is a Sturmvogle and is un numbered. If you can get this book read it and it will probably give you the information you require. Don't throw the bombs away you may need them.

                        In his book Galland comments on how the rockets were used to shoot down B-26 marauders.his squadron used them (JV-44) also Nowotny was Austrian and a leading member of JG54(hence the green heart on his a/c)..his unit was an evaluaton unit(usually known as Kommandos there were Kommandos for the Ar-234 as well)JV44 used a/c loaned to them from jg7 (red and blue reichdefence bands) which confuses everyone. Safe to say JV44 was a hodgepodge when it came to its aircraft ..(and I grew up thinking its 190D's were all black on the bottom...red???RED!!!) :)

                        I agree with bernie, use the rockets if you want. Don't know for sure if Galland ever carried them but it is possible. I think Nowatny's Kommando was similar to Gallands Squadron, led by Walter Nowatny and staffed with the better pilots that were still surviving.
                        And hey what about the group that is building a flying re-creation of the 262. Can't wait to see that in the air.

                        It's a white 3. Yes, the bombs are a no-go. But the hasegawa kits of this aircraft, show and instruct you to use the rockets.

                        Best bet, use the rockets, because they look COOL.

                        i have the italeri 1/48 me-262 A-1a, and got a decal set (superscale i think - not sure) which as one of its aircraft has the galland's 262 (white 7 i think...at work at the moment and can't check!Big Smile [:D])...
                        anyway, the italeri kit has as weapons options: bombs and underwing rockets on wooden slats.
                        i know the bombs are probably a no-no (A-2a right?Wink [;)]), but what about the rockets? i don't want to screw it up...i've looked at quite a few sites etc but can't find out about galland's plane.

                        also, i see lots of decals for walter nowotny's plane of Kommando Novotny...exactly what was KN and anyone know how his planes were armed?
