Spitfire question

OK, I admit upfront that I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm normally a target--er--armor modeller, but was looking through an airplane book the other night with my son, and found a couple of pictures of a Mark 24 and a Mark 27 Spitfire. For whatever reason, I really liked the 5-blade prop on the former, and the counter-rotating props on the latter ( I think they sort of look cool with the additional blades.) My question is this: Is there a 1/48 kit available of either of these birds, or if there isn't, is there a GOOD conversion set that will work on, say, the Tamiya Spit (Tamiya does make one,right?) If there is a conversion set, who makes it (them), how much is it (are they), and does it (do they) require a lot of work? I'm really kind of looking for "plug and play", if you follow the meaning (straight forward; not a lot of work; superb results). What do you guys recommend?
