The PE instrument panels I've used were the same, you can either try to super glue the PE in which can be done with some paitience or you can make a backing of sheet plastic or brass by outlining the kit intrument panel on your material then cutting it out and sanding and fitting it. Bit time consuming but well worth it usually.

PE instrument panel

I was advised to put my question is this forum, so here goes.
I am building Tamiyas 1/48 Spitfire M1a. I bought a detail set and it includes a cockpit set and to be gentle, poor instructions. The instrument panel consists of two pieces. A piece of photo-film dials, and a piece of PE. The piece of photo-film dials goes on the back of the PE after its been painted, but then what. Do I have to sand down the instrument panel from the model and the glue the PE and film to it or what ?? Thanks for any assistance
