I may end up having to do that. Thanks for the tips.

Yeah, definately stuff the wheel wells with tissue (I don't dampen it however unitl the last piece goes in).

I paint and weather the wheel wells first, sand off any exess paint on the wing, mask
then paint the wings - touch up is a breeze along the rim of the wells.

Stick the doors to a loop of tape for painting. Fill the wheel well with slightly damped toilet paper and'or masking tape for painting/spraying the model.
Then, as Berny says, it's easy to mask off the fuselage & paint inside the wheelwell.

Don't cut them off. The tabs help when you attach the gear door, by aligning the doors at the proper angle and position. Trying to glue them back on after would not work. I know, I have broken them off by accident and they are a bear to reattach.

One way is to paint the model, mask off around the wheel well and then paint the wheel well.

Wheel well door "hinges"

Modelers, the model I'm working on now has small tabs on the wheel well doors for attaching to the model. These are supposed to be the hinges. The problem is that they do not allow one to attach the doors in a closed postion for aircraft painting. The only way I can think of to get by this is to carefully cut them off. Afterwards, I can then CA them back onto the door. At least thats the only thing I can think of. Anyone else know of a trick to get by this? Thanks.
