Airwaves Wing Fold for G/Phoenix Firefly I

Has anyone successfully used the Airwaves Wing Fold kit on a Grand Phoenix Firefly Mk I. I have just cut the top and bottom wing halves as per the sheet but a trial fit of the airwaves rib doesn't seem to hold any hope of it fitting inside despite thining. The major problem appears to be the leading edge profile which is much rounder on the airwaves rib compared to the sharper interior profile of the kit. Any suggestions or direction to an article or review would be much appreciated. T.I.A.
