Me262 interior
Posted by nsclcctl on Monday, September 22, 2003 8:47 AM
I am working on the Tamiya version. Great so far. I have built the little tractor. It looks great.

I have started on the plane. There is confusion about the fuselage interior color. Anybody know what it was? There are ribs on the surface, front to back. I am assuming the color is a german grey but what about the ribs? Ir, is it all mettallic silver. Anybody know?

The cockpit of the Me 262 was painted RLM 66 (black gray). The other Me 262 post here contains links to a couple of good photo sites. Good luck !

From what I've been able to determine, the cockpit interior is RLM 66 gray (I use ModelMaster European 1 dark gray); the rest of the interior was anodized metal, roughly the same goldish color as the inside of a soup can. I've been using Model Master jet exhaust. Wheel wells and panel insides of most German planes were RLM 02 light gray-green, but I've read that the 262 wasn't, relying only on the anodizing. Of course, I could be wrong :D.
