Raptor #18 has been at Edwards AFB, Ca. the last six months under going testing. It was due to arrive at Tyndall AFB last week but didn't make it. Maybe the paint fell off. Tongue [:P]

I am building a partor and I would like to know what colors should I paint the exterior and if anybody can help with points on how to add extra detail to it or where i can find decal sets for it.
Thank You very much

Berny,

There are published reports on the arrival of Raptor #18 at Tyndall. It flew in on 26 Sept to great public fanfair. There is an article in Combat Aircraft (Jan. 2004 Vol. 5 No. 4) about this event. The piece includes a number of details on the arrival event, as well as a host of photos.

chepa21; the Raptor is painted like the F-15 but the colors are Ghost scheme Dk & Lt Ghost Greys, as for the first Active unit to fly the 22's where the 57 FFW at Nellis for fighter pilot training and the Tyndall unit will be for more comvbat training and the 1st Fighter Wing will be the unit to have the fighter for what it was used for

Looking at photos of R&D Raptors, they appear to have a slight metallic sheen to their paint. Although the colors may nominally match the current F-15 scheme, is the Air Force using a special, perhaps electromagnetically inhibiting paint?
