ME262 problems
Posted by nsclcctl on Friday, September 26, 2003 8:14 PM
I am workinmg on the Tamiya ME262. All was fine until I reached the front landing gear. There is a rather large piece which absoilutely has no number to the sprue and is not included as far as I can tell. It is the front landing gear bay door and I swear, there is no part number. The piece appears in the directions, but I cannot find it or where it was. Is Tamiya responsive to missing pieces and is there a US contact or do I have to go to the Japan supplier? I am so frustrated I could screa. If I am overlooking something, if anyone has built this, please respond. Thanks,

Hey nsclcctl,
The front landing gear door(that attaches to the gear itself) number is C16 and the other gear door is number C17.
Is this what you are lookin for or are you refering to the nose weight. If so it should be taped/stappled to one side of the box.
Actually what step(s) are you refering to my friend? If this is not what you are looking for please let me know so I could help you out!!
BTW I built this beaut and let me tell ya the finished results are awesomeWink [;)]. Cant wait to see your finished Swallow.

There was nothing stapled in my box. Right after assembling the cockpit and the gun bay with the two guns, the directions point to the front landing gear. There are painting instructions and the numbering of a small piece that the front landing gear attached to. They are referring to a rather large piece that the gun bay attached to from the top. In addition, if you are talking about a nose weight, I don't have that either. I am going to call Tamiya today. Was a weight included in your kit? Thanks very much for your reply. I am so frustrated.

Hey nsclcctl,
Yupper, they do come w/ the nose weight.
The gun bay does attach to the nose weight and it also makes up the wheel well.
So I would call/e-mail them and explain your situation and say your kit never included the nose weight.
Hope this helps.
