Hi Again Liam, ok it will take me a bit to scan the article, I may have to do it after work tonight but I will get on it. The pour stub is at the bottom of the cockpit tub on my kit. The sections that fit into the engines on mine are a close fit but don't seem overly snug. Also if you file or grind be mindfull of the resin dust it is not good for you at all. I usually wear at least a painters mask when I work with resin and even try to go outside.

Ardy299: are the pour stubs the sections that fit so snugly into the engines inside the fuselage half? This is only ever my second "resin" experience. Any advice would be appreciated.

Dear Ardy299:
I would love to see this srticle, Ardy299, if it is not too awkward for you to scan them, then please do. For my part, I have a number of photos of the an Irish Fouga Magister in storage in Fas, Shannon. It's not quite a walk-around, but there are some excellent cockpit shots.
( it's no.218, it's indoors and it's in great condition, being used as a training rig for the aero-mechs at Shannon Aerospace, I think. They were moving stuff around the day I got in to take the photos so the external shots are a bit cramped.)

Liam, 2 things, first I got out my kit and checked out the cockpit tub fuselage fit, mine actually seems pretty good, it appears that it will only take some clean up of the pour stub on the tub and maybe some minor filing or grinding here and there for a good fit. Second I found the article I mentioned above and its actually about the Irish Air Corp with only a small section on the Magister. If you would like I can scan it and email it to you. Its in Combat AircraftVol 3 #3 March-April of 2001. Let me know.

Hi Liam, I have this kit myself but so far I've only opened the box and gone through the parts trees, no fitting done yet, and probably be some time before I actually start the building process. I too was going to do an Irish Air Corps plane since I found some decals, and I read an article someplace. I will see if I can find it again, think it was Scale Aircraft Models International. Good luck with your Magister.

Hey Guys:
I'm taking a break from the two-seater MkIX Spitfire I am building (1/48) and have got my teeth into the Fonderie Fouga Magister (1/48), which I am doing up as an Irish Air Corps aircraft.
I have heard that the resin cockpit tub causes fit problems and this has turned out to be true... the two fuselage havles just won't close with it in place.
Any suggestions?
Also, I have a picture of the Irish Air Corps Magisters with underwing ordance. Anyone know what these are/were?
Thanks in advance.
Liam
