Hi, Trying to find a kit of the CT-114 Canadian Snowbirds and can't find one. Any idea? Thank you. Paul

Hobbycraft made a Tutor in 72nd with Snowbirds markings. It's not that bad a kit. Here's a Tutor on evilBay.

Oh, almost forgot... The decals in this kit are crap. My Dad had a total of four of these things and the decals were total garbage in each of them. And from the looks of this one on eBay, the decals are badly out of register. There was an aftermarket sheet available sometime back and I may still have the sheet that my Dad had, I'll take a looksee...

Fade to Black...

Like he said, Hobbycraft makes it in 1:72. My son built this and it turned out rather well. He used the kit decals so maybe he lucked out as his were in register and looked not too bad.

The Hobbycraft kit is alright, but you'll need to do a fair bit of scratchbuilding in the cockipit and shorten up the landing gear legs a slight bit.

Belcher bits produced a 1/48 resin Tutor jet and by all accounts it was a good kit, I'm not sure what sort of production run it had, you may want to pay a visit to the Belcher Bits web site to see if its still available.

A couple of more obscure offerings were by a Canadian outfit called Victoria Products, I'm not certain if They're still around, But they released Tutors in 1/72. one was resin and the other vac form. They also released a sheet of 1/72 decals that weren't bad.

If you want aftermarket decals for the Hobbycraft Tutor, Arrow Graphics is your best bet, they have a variety of Tutor decals to choose from including Snowbird schemes from the very first all white paint jobs of their innagural display season right up to the most current scheme.

I heard that Hobbycraft had announced a 1/48 Tutor, but I haven't seen it on shelves yet, keep hoping.

Just want to say thank for the info.

I found two Tutor CT-114 kit 1/48, one on HobbyCraft website, kit no. HC1426 and another one on Belcher Bits, kit no BK1. I’ll try to get the Belcher Bit kit. They say that this kit was sold out in ’96 and has been re-released with new decal sheet. Looks good on the website. I’ll post another message when I’ll found it. Paul

I purchased the Belcher kit sometime ago and found it accurate. As I am unfamiliar with resin, it still sits in my spare stock. I also eagerly await the 1/48 HCC kit. Have you had any luck in getting one?

Polar I built the 1/48 hobbycraft and the kit was not bad but you do have to do a little bit of scratch-building.
