humbrols cotes

Hi Flyinghigh65,

I use humbrols all the time. If you are going to put any of their paints/matt,satin,gloss cotes through your airbrush you definitey need to thin them down.
You can use any enamel thinner to to the job, I use artists pure turpintine. If you decide to use thinners, remember that the fumes smell bad and can be harmful!
Please make sure you use in a well ventilated area!

Humbrol Glosscote, Satincote and Dullcote definately require thinning to airbrush them.
You need to use White Spirit to thin them - it's a refined form of turpentine - I got mine from a shop that sells household paints.
I've gotten very good results with the Satincote and the Dullcote, but I prefer Future for a gloss coat - it dries quicker and is impervious to turpentine (which is good if you want to do an oil based wash).
