I just put down some dymo tape as close to the line as I can get it, run an exacto blade along the tape edge, and then the  scriber. If the panel line is curved or over a complex surface, I just run the exacto knife first (no dymo tape) and then free hand it with the scriber. Ive been getting some good results on this C-130.

First take a good look at it and see where you made mistakes and went off panel lines and scratched the surface, if your find any scratches or gouges on the suface take some model putty (green or white Squadron Putty) and cover them let dry and then sand the surface again. After that take an old tooth brush and with dish soap scrub out the panel lines of any left over dust and debris and rinse with warm water and let it air dry. This also help prepare it for painting. When finished it should look like this... ( see pic)
