Bored at work (1/72 F-4E)
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, October 2, 2003 9:05 AM
You guys aren't giving me much to read today. I'm looking for an interesting F-4E to model. I've started the kit (hasegawa, old tool) but don't want to use the kits decals. Any suggestions? Other than that I'm concurrently working on Italeri F-18E (will use Two Bobs decals, Hawegawa A-10A (microscale decals and some custom, 104th TFW) also doing these markings with Trumpeter's 1/32 in the near future, Hasegawa OA-4M (suggestions welcome for markings on this one too), Hasegawa F-15D and Hasegawa F-16N. All 1/72.

Here's one for you, How about a QF-4E? I've seen some transiting through Barksdale AFB that were quite lurid, what with all the red. Usually the red was sprayed on the tail and wings, but I saw one (an F-4G I beleive) that was solid red with a white stripe! Phaboulous Phantoms Phorever!!!

Now that would be cool. Could probably canabalize other decal sheets too! Anyone have links to pics of a QF-4E? Hopefully enough that I could accurately do a particular aircraft.

If you were at work, what were you doing on the web? [:0] Bad man. Evil [}:)] You are restricted to your model room Saturday and Sunday. Tongue [:P]

There are plenty of QF-4E's, G's and QRF-4C's at Tyndall AFB. I have a few friends out there so I'll see if I can get some pictures of the drones. I'll take the pictures with my digital camera and e-mail them to you. Don't know how long it will take though.

That would be great! Thanks. Work is a little slow now, and I work on a computer, so I check the forum to relieve myself of some boredom. Today is no exception.
