I was assigned to this aircraft when assigned to the 8th SOS and have been looking high and low for a replica of this awesome aircraft.

I have no information on this model but just want to thank you for your service!

Apologies for resurrecting an ancient thread, but it's the most current one I see for this aircraft.

I was in the 7575th Operations Group at Rhein-Main AB, Germany supporting the 7th Special Operations Squadron.  I do see an MC-130E Combat Talon I kit has been released since the original post.

The decals even have the 7th SOS tail numbers.

Planning to build this one next after I finish the B-36.

I went with the Testors/Italeri version.  Its the only one I've ever wrked on and I have a few C-130s.  the only real downfall of it is the raised panel lines. but they can be corrected.

Hey there, Bri.

I have just the info your looking for.  Flightpath makes several conversion kits for the 1/72 C-130s.  This includes conversions for both the MC-130E Talon I and MC-130H Talon II.  I have built the Talon I and I can tell you the conversion is top notch.  I have even purchased some of the other conversion sets, as well as the resin engine sets.  You can get them all from Sprue Brothers. Here is the Talon I that I built up.  I shaved the panel lines and rescribbed them.

Viper, that Talon is simply beautiful! I absolutely love the way that bird turned out and I can only hope my endeavor will reap the rewards your efforts have. I will definitely be ordering from Flightpath in the VERY near future and I will also attempt to locate a 1/72nd C-130 for the conversion. Out of curiosity, of all the 130's ever made in this scale, which is the best kit to convert into a Talon?

Was there ever a kit of this aircraft produced? If not, are there conversion pieces available to build this version of the C-130? I was assigned to this aircraft when assigned to the 8th SOS and have been looking high and low for a replica of this awesome aircraft. I will take either 1/72nd or 1/48th scale at this point.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
