Any modelers want to share your experiences about building the trumpeter Tu95ms or Tu16. Or you have the experience of building esci/italeri/amt Tu22/Tu22m3s blinder/ backfire bombers?

It is a very unique experiences to build such big aircraft. I bought the Tu95ms from trumpeter. The kit was very large, accurate and sheer number of parts. But the details was still it's cons.Trumpeter's skill is far better than italeri, airfix which I regarding them never producing detailed 1/72 models but still behind tamiya or hasegawa. It was a very good start for this model world new comer.

Wondering will they produce a 1/72 Tu160 blackjack bomber.

they are quite good actually. I had a glimpse of them recently. Not Tamiya stuff, but with a bit of work it is bound to look good.

I built AMT's Tupolev Backfire C several years back.

Its typical AMT fare, the plastic is a touch too soft for my liking, the decals are well printed but useless as the adhesive doesn't stick to anything and they just shrivel up with any sort of setting solution. If you attempt it, a lot of scratchbuilding is in order and there's gaps a plenty to fill.

It does, however capture the general outlines well and it does make quite the conversation peice due to its size.

With any luck at all AMTech will take the molds for it and really make it into the kit that it should be as the information available about the aircraft now is ten fold what it was when AMT first released it in the late 80s or early 90s. I keep hoping.

I've built the three jets and I'm currently working on the Bear. I built the AMT Backfire C. It's an easy kit to build, but it's not very accurate. The Badger and Blinder go together well and look pretty accurate. The Blinder kit's engines are just a little too far apart, but ESCI captured the plane's curves very well.

So far, so good on the Bear's construction. Not much interior detail, but with the small windows I don't think it will matter much.
