I would go for the Tamiya Corsair b/c it's a very well detailed kit. U basically add some glue and paint into the box and shack it up...TADA, a built F4U. The panels are engraved nicley too. Everything fits with reeally no head aches to encounter. Bacically its a quater scale shrunk down.
Never really saw a built up one by Hasegawa in 72 scale. From what I remember, I thought it had raised panel lines like the earlier 1/48th scale Corsair had (New 1/48th F4u is engraved). I'm not too sure on that one I may be wrong. If you can go onto Hasegawa's web site, see if you can tell by the pics or look at their catalog at your local hbby shop.
Like you said both kits are good. I heard soo much about how "sweet" the Tamiya built looks. Kinda makes me want to do 1/72. Hopefully this will help but then again you have to be happy in what your building. Good luck. Flaps up, Mike
If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger
