Anyone ever build the old Frog Lancaster? i heard that it was quite good. as for airfix watch out that you don't get the first one that they did as it was pretty average. it's a pity that tamia didn't do a lanc in 1/72 but maybe they will one day, lets face it who would have thought they would do a mossie and beaufighter. I've built the Matchbox one, and it was ok to build, no real build problems. Once finished, it looks good. Haven't done the Airfix one, maybe I should try it one of these days.

Airfix makes the best Lancaster in 1/72nd scale. It really is a gem and much nicer than Revell or Matchbox ever produced. When it was released in the mid 80's (?) it was said to be almost like the Tamiya 1/48th kit scaled down to 1/72nd.

I can't tell you the best but I can say keep clear of the original Revel offering. The side windows were about the same size as airliner windows and as far as I can remember it had a seat for a copilot!
Anyhow who are producing 1:72 Lancasters?

Who produces the best Lancaster in 1:72 (taking into account accuracy, ease of construction, cost, etc etc)?
