Yeah, there are some REAL no-brainers out there. My favorite is the warning on the hair dryer that tells you not to use it in the tub. Even has pictures, so literacy is not a requirement for safety. Kinda scary, when you think about it. People not smart enough to have common sense are saved, allowing them to breed. Go figure.
I remember, as a kid (too long ago to mention !), that I rushed through my models with the patience of a person stuck in an elevator. I probably could have used that clock then, but I doubt if I would have heeded the warning.
So post a couple more threads while you wait for the glue to dry !

Is it true that on the peanut packet on American Airlines the instructions read;
Open packet, Eat nuts?
Does it also say, Caution, may contain nuts?

How about the little weight that shows up in the nose on some kits? The A4 skyhawk from Testors/Italeri has one. I didn't know what in the world it was. Didn't know til the model was complete and I put the front landing gear on. Whammo, the nose went straight up. Surprise, it means put something in there to weight it down, stupid!!! I have learned......the hard way.

With the truth in advertising now, each product has to have a warning. I saw one for a sleep aid. One of the side effects was "May cause drowsiness".

I bought a new DVD player the other day, and believe it or not, the first line of the setup instructions was "Open Box." Keep in mind, these are the instructions INSIDE THE BOX. I can just imagine somewhere in Alabama:

"George, have you got it working yet?"
"Not yet, Martha. There's no holes in the cardboard to plug it in!"

I once saw a seal on a o.t.c. bottle of medicine that stated "Do not buy this product if this seal is missing".

There are instructions on the side of a shoulder mounted rocket launcher that has an arrow and a sign that says "point toward enemy." Your tax dollars at work.

I am a volunteer firefighter and last week we got a call to a kitchen fire. These people had put there u-bake pizza in the oven to cook but did'nt take it out of the box it came in, so by the time they phoned us the fire was out but we had to hook up our fans to blow all the smoke out. So I guess some obvious instructions are needed for some people

Here's one: I was restocking some shelves at the plant nursery I used to work at and I saw this on a garden hose repair kit: "For outdoor use only." I actually bought one of the repair kits and sent it to a writer for our paper who has a humorous column called "Only in L.A.;" he prints some of these "DUH!" warnings. It got published!
